Ni hao! (Hello!)
At Casey Fields Primary School, we offer a dynamic LOTE program in Chinese, designed to enrich students’ educational experience, build their intercultural capabilities as well as develop global citizens.
Our thoughtfully designed units enable students to build on their existing knowledge, with the goal of developing their language skills to engage in daily conversations. We also aspire to integrate cross-curricular units wherever possible, allowing students to further develop and apply skills learned in other subject areas. This holistic approach not only deepens their understanding but also enriches their overall educational experience.
Learning another language helps children understand how others live and opens their minds to different cultures. This program teaches a second language and culture while also helping students practise important thinking skills. Learning a new language improves their ability to think about language, be flexible in their thinking, and solve problems.
