On the 19th of May the Year 5 students will be taking part in a Wildlife Incursion as part of our Inquiry unit this term. Students have been exploring biology and adaptations, and the incursion will allow them a chance to see these concepts in a real-world context. Andrew Wegener from Australian Wildlife Lectures will be coming along to run the incursion.
From the website – Andrew Wegener shares his knowledge, enthusiasm and respect for the many varied and unique animals and ecosystems that we have in Australia. He uses a variety of teaching strategies where the children are encouraged to observe, discuss and handle the animals so that they explore concepts about the needs and characteristics of different living things.
There will be a small cost for this incursion. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s home group teacher.
