As part of our term 1 inquiry unit “Where in the world is….” we have been learning about continents around the world, and the manmade and natural features in each. In week 8 we’ll be learning about Australia and Oceania, so what better way to learn about a feature of Melbourne than to experience it?
We will be visiting the Melbourne Museum, IMAX, and having lunch at the Fitzroy Gardens, right by the Royal Exhibition Building. Students will be watching a 3D film in IMAX all about the Great Barrier Reef (a natural feature in Australia), and having a look at 4 different exhibitions at the Melbourne Museum – the dinosaurs, forest walk, mini mega model, and the Melbourne story.
